Departure of Stéphane Rochon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Humania Assurance

The Board of Directors of Humania Assurance inc. salutes the achievements of Stéphane Rochon, President and Chief Executive Officer, following the announcement of his departure.

SAINT-HYACINTHE, QC, May 18, 2021 – Stéphane Rochon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Humania Assurance Inc., will leave as head of the mutual insurance company in late May to work on new projects in the entertainment industry. He will officially leave the company on May 21. Before becoming President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Rochon served as Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, at Humania for 13 years.

“It is with a sense of accomplishment that I am turning an important page in my professional life today. I am leaving an organization that is in a good position and that can count on a strong team to maintain its growth,” said Mr. Rochon.

Under his leadership, the Québec-based insurer has made a major digital shift by successfully converting its individual Income Insurance line to a modern online platform, prohealthinsurance.ca, which now provides the company an undeniable competitive advantage in positioning itself in several markets with innovation and agility.

Jacques Martineau, Chairman of the Board of Humania Assurance, highlights Stéphane Rochon’s commitment. “His transformational leadership, as well as his strong sense of innovation, have contributed greatly to the development of our business plan and to the strength of our company. I wish him the best of success in this new phase of his professional journey,” he said.

“It was with great emotion that I made this announcement to all our employees and business partners in mid-April, as it marks the end of an extraordinary part of my life. First, I wanted to thank them. This was not an easy decision to make. It is personal,” said Mr. Rochon.He added:  “I would like to express my gratitude to Humania’s Board of Directors, management team and all the company’s employees for their support over the past 17 years. It has been a great privilege to lead Humania through this important period of transformation and growth. The Humania community is very strong, and I definitely feel a sense of accomplishment.”

The Humania Insurance Board of Directors has created a committee to ensure the transition of the various issues. It has also begun the process of recruiting a new President and CEO. It will be up to the Board to review the candidates and officially appoint Mr. Rochon’s successor as soon as possible.

“As a mutual company, we are very committed to our values. We want to ensure that Stéphane’s successor is the best person to uphold them,” Mr. Martineau concluded.
